Mini Strawberry Tarts with balsamic glaze are mouthwateringly delicious! Made with only 4 ingredients and ready in half an hour, they are the perfect quick and easy dessert for Spring. These Mini Strawberry Tarts are just what you need for Mother’s Day!
Strawberries are one of my absolute favorite fruits! I like them in both sweet desserts and savory dishes too! For a fun twist on the original, try this Strawberry Basil Bruschetta as an appetizer, and for dessert, my Individual Strawberry Shortcake Trifle is always a hit!
Have you tried balsamic vinegar and strawberries together? It’s one of my favorite flavor combinations! I especially love the two ingredients together in salads, like my Berry Spinach Salad with Berry Balsamic Vinaigrette (SO good!), and decided to try making a not-too-sweet strawberry balsamic dessert. This Strawberry Balsamic Tart recipe turned out delicious!
This Strawberry Tart recipe is so simple yet so amazing. I love easy desserts that look impressive and this rustic Strawberry Tart recipe is definitely one of them. These balsamic and strawberry tarts are so quick and easy to throw together, and are perfect as an individual treat after dinner!
I kept this Strawberry Tart recipe really simple and stuck with 4 pantry staples ingredients: puff pastry, strawberries, balsamic vinegar, and just a touch (1 tsp!) of sugar. I used store-bought puff pastry which you can find in the frozen foods aisle in grocery stores, but homemade puff pastry would work just as well! You can easily double the recipe if you have more mouths to feed at the dinner table!

Ingredients for Mini Strawberry Tarts
- Strawberries: The star of this strawberry tart recipe is strawberries of course! They are sliced and placed on top of the puff pastry. Feel free to use other fruits! I came up with some suggestions below.
- Puff Pastry: Puff pastry is the perfect crunchy, buttery bed for the strawberries to lay on. I used frozen, but feel free to make your own!
- Balsamic Vinegar: Balsamic vinegar adds a beautiful tartness to this delicate strawberry tart recipe. It is addictive!
- Sugar: I added just 1 tsp of brown sugar to cut through the vinegar when I made the balsamic reduction. It becomes more like a balsamic sweet and tart syrup.
How to make Strawberry Tarts
-
Heat the oven. Firstly, preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
-
Cut the pastry. Secondly, cut puff pastry into 4 or 6 squares and place on a baking sheet lined with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper. Prick all over with a fork to keep the pastry from puffing up.
3. Top with strawberries. Next, arrange strawberries on top.
4. Bake! Bake rotating halfway through for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
5. Make balsamic reduction. While the Strawberry Tarts are baking, make the balsamic glaze by adding balsamic vinegar and brown sugar to a small saucepan, and then simmer it for 10 minutes or until the sauce has reduced by half. Keep warm until ready to use.
6. Serve! Serve immediately with a drizzle of balsamic reduction. You can add some whipped cream or ice cream on top if desired!
What can I serve with these Mini Strawberry Tarts?
I like to add a dollop of whipped cream on top, or some ice cream. With these Strawberry Balsamic Tarts, vanilla is my favorite, however, chocolate, strawberry, or salted caramel would be perfect as well! If you want to try a homemade ice cream option, my Butter Brickle Ice cream made with Homemade Toffee is amazing!
Can I use any other fruits?
Strawberries are really perfect for this easy Strawberry Tart recipe, but I don’t see why you couldn’t try other fruits or even a mixture! These fruits would also taste great with the balsamic glaze:
- Raspberries
- Cherries
- Blackberries
- Blueberries
- Peaches
- Plums
- Nectarines
- Pears
