5 Ingredient Drop Biscuits are quick and easy to make, requiring only basic pantry staples! With no need for rolling or cutting, these biscuits are simply dropped onto a baking sheet, resulting in rustic, fluffy biscuits. Perfect for breakfast or as a simple side dish!
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
Add flour, baking powder and salt to a large bowl, mix to combine.
Add in cubed butter and using a fork or a pastry cutter cut the butter into the flour. The goal is to mix the cold butter with the flour. It will end up looking like pebbles / coarse meal.
Pour in the buttermilk and mix just until the dough comes together. (Make sure not to overmix).
Drop 2 tbsp (1 ounce) sized mounds onto the prepared baking sheet. I got 12 medium size biscuits however feel free to make yours smaller or bigger.
Place in the oven and bake for 12-14 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let rest on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to cool completley.Serve with jam, butter or clotted cream. These also go great with soups, stews and gravy!
