Total Time: 1 hourhr
Ingredients
1/4cupunsalted butter, softened
8ouncescream cheese, softened
2tbspfresh herbs, I used parsley, thyme and rosemary
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place garlic (with the top cut off) on a small piece of foil. Drizzle garlic with olive oil, salt and pepper. Wrap the foil around the head of garlic making sure it is covered completely.
Bake for 30-40 minutes. The garlic should be tender and golden brown not burnt.Allow the garlic to cool for 15 minutes before handling.
Boursin Cheese
Add butter and cream cheese to a stand mixer with the whisk attachment. On medium high speed whip until the butter and cream cheese are light and fluffy.Stir in fresh herbs and squeeze out the head of roasted garlic. Season to taste with a pinch of salt and pepper. (Taste first though I typically don't add much salt)
Line a 1 cup measuring cup with plastic wrap with enough to overhang the sides.Press the Boursin cheese into the measuring cup pushing down as you go. Cover the top with the plastic wrap and twist to tighten.
Place the Boursin cheese in the fridge until ready to enjoy or serve right away with crackers! This will disappear fast!
Notes
Use Room Temperature Ingredients: Soften the butter and cream cheese before adding. This ensures easy whipping and a smooth, creamy texture.Whip thoroughly. Mixing the butter and cream cheese until light and fluffy gives the Boursin its signature airy texture.Taste before salting. Roasted garlic and fresh herbs add plenty of flavor, so you may not need much extra salt.Prep for shaping. Line your measuring cup or container with plastic wrap to make it easy to remove and serve the cheese.
