Cook pasta until al-dente according to package instructions.
Meanwhile while pasta is boiling, heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet. Add in onion and cook for 3-4 minutes or until it starts to get tender.Add in garlic and cook for an additional minute. Next, add in vodka and allow the alcohol to cook off, 1-2 minutes.
Add in crushed tomatoes, red pepper flakes and sugar. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes.
Stir in heavy cream and parmesan cheese and take off heat. Toss with cooked pasta and stir to coat.
Serve immediately with fresh basil for serving and enjoy!
