Buttermilk Pancakes

This Buttermilk Pancakes recipe should be your go-to for Sunday morning breakfast!

MAKE BUTTERMILK

Combine milk and vinegar in a small bowl or measuring cup. Let sit for 5 minutes.

MIX DRY INGREDIENTS

In a large bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.

ADD WET TO DRY INGREDIENTS

Add in milk, egg yolks and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Mix until lump free. Make sure not to over mix.

FOLD IN EGG WHITES

Add egg whites to a medium bowl and whip them until soft peaks form. Fold in egg whites to the batter using a rubber spatula.

COOK PANCAKES

Preheat skillet over medium heat for a couple of minutes. Drizzle the pan with canola oil. Scoop batter using an ice cream scoop (which holds about 2 ounces).

FLIP PANCAKES

Flip the pancakes when the edges look set and bubbles appear. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes then remove from the pan.

Serve immediately with butter and maple syrup!
