Crescent Rolls

These Crescent Rolls are light, flaky and fluffy and so easy to make at home! They are actually surprisingly easy to make!

Bloom yeast

01

Add yeast, warm water and 1/2 tsp sugar to the bowl of a stand mixer. Stir to combine and let stand for 5 minutes.

Knead dough

02

Combine 1/4 cup sugar, melted butter, milk, 1 egg, salt, and 3 cups of flour to the yeast. Knead using a dough hook for 6-8 mins, adding the remaining 1 cup of flour as needed.

Proof dough

03

Shape dough into a ball, place in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth or plastic wrap, and let it rise at room temperature for about an hour, or until nearly doubled in size.

Roll dough

04

Punch down dough, transfer to a clean surface. Divide into halves, then roll each into a 12-inch circle. Use a pizza cutter or knife to cut each circle into 12 equal wedges.

Proof crescent rolls

05

Roll each triangle from the widest edge, and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.  Cover with plastic wrap and let them rest for 30 minutes.

Brush with egg wash

06

Preheat the oven to 375F. In a small bowl combine egg and 1 tbsp of water. Whisk to combine. Brush each crescent roll with the egg wash.

Bake

07

Bake for 8-10 minutes or until they are golden brown.

Serve warm and enjoy!
