Garlic Knots

Tehse Garlic Knots are soft and fluffy with a savory and herby flavor!

Bloom yeast

Add warm water to the bowl of the stand mixer with the dough hook attachment. Add in yeast and honey. Stir and allow it to rest for 5 minutes.

Mix dough

Add 2 cups of flour, salt, and oil. Mix to combine, 3-4 minutes on low speed. Slowly add remaining 1/2-1 cup of flour or until a smooth ball forms

Proof and shape

Allow the dough to rest for 1 hour. Punch down the dough and transfer it to a lightly floured work surface. Shape the dough into a long log about 16 inches long.

Form knots

Cut into 16 pieces then roll each piece into a thin rope about 7 inches or so. Tie the rope into a knot and pull the two ends then tuck the ends under themselves.

Brush knots

Place on baking sheet with parchment paper. Cover with plastic wrap or a towel and proof for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 400F. In a bowl combine olive oil, garlic and parsley.

Bake

Brush half of the garlic oil onto each of the garlic knots. Bake for 20 minutes or until they are golden brown. Remove from the oven and brush with the remaining garlic oil.

Serve with parmesan cheese if desired and enjoy!!
