Bacon Cheddar Biscuits

Bacon Cheddar Biscuits loaded with crispy bacon, green onions, sharp cheddar cheese and garlic! These savory biscuits make the perfect side dish to any meal!


  • 8 slices bacon, cooked and diced
  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup chives, diced (green part only)
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, frozen
  • 1 3/4 cups buttermilk


  1. In a large bowl combine cooked bacon, flour, chives, cheddar cheese, baking powder, baking soda, salt, onion and garlic powder.

  2. Grate frozen butter using a cheese grater. Stir into the dry ingredients.

  3. Add buttermilk and stir until combined. Make sure not to overmix.

  4. Lightly flour countertop and roll out dough into a 1 1/4 inch thick rectangle. Cut out 16 biscuits using a 2 inch biscuit cutter.

  5. Place biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and place in the freezer for 30 minutes.

  6. Meanwhile preheat oven to 450 degrees.

  7. Remove the biscuits from the freezer and bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm!
