Maple Dijon Salmon
This easy Maple Dijon Salmon recipe is ready in 20 minutes or less. It is served with a homemade sticky and sweet maple dijon sauce. This will be your new go to recipe for salmon!
Make the sauce: Melt 4 tbsp of butter in a small pot on the stove. Add in chopped sage, maple syrup, dijon, garlic and onion powder. whisk together and remove from heat.
Pan Sear: Heat a pan with 1 tbsp of avocado oil over the stove. In the meantime, season salmon filets with salt and pepper. When the oil is just starting to shimmer and before the first wisps of smoke, sear salmon filets for about 2 minutes.
Transfer to a sheet pan, baste with sauce and bake in a 400°F oven for 5-7 minutes, or until the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 135°F.
Serve immediately with fried sage on top. Enjoy!
Fried Sage
To fry sage heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a medium skillet over high heat.Once hot add in sage leaves and fry for 1-2 minutes per side. Remove from the oil and transfer to a paper towel lined plate. Set aside until you are ready to serve.
Notes
Leave the skin on the salmonduring cooking. This helps the salmon stay together and not fall apart when flipping. Once the salmon is cooked, allow to cool slightly and remove the skin.Add some spice. Want more heat? Add some cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes for a bit of spice.Grilling Method: If you prefer to grill the salmon. Preheat grill to 400 degrees. Grease grill grates with non stick cooking spray. Place the salmon skin side down and cook for 4-5 minutes then flip. Cook for an additional 4 minutes or until fully cooked. (depends on thickness of salmon)
