This Stuffed Baked Apple Crisp has all the flavors you love about fall tucked into one convenient dessert!
Preheat oven to 400F. Cut the apples in half and using a paring knife remove the core. Drizzle the cut side of the apples with lemon juice. Then brush them with the tablespoon of melted butter and granulated sugar and cinnamon.
Add 6 tbsp of butter to a saucepan. Cook on medium high heat for 5 minutes or so or until the butter starts to turn a light caramel color. Make sure to keep an eye on this and swirl the butter often.
To a large bowl add the browned butter, oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, cloves, allspice and salt. Stir to combine until the mixture gets crumbly.
Fill each apple cavity with the crumb mixture.
Place in the oven and bake for 20-30 minutes or until the apples are tender and the crumb filling is golden brown and crisp.
Serve immediately with whipped cream, caramel sauce or ice cream.
