The Best HOmemade Protein Bars Recipe

Are you a fan of Perfect Bars but not a fan of the price tag? I totally get you. These delicious protein bars are one of the best you can find at the store. They are tasty and made with whole ingredients! However, I don’t want to spend that much money on a simple snack.

I made these copycat Perfect Bar protein bars at home and they turned on even better that the store-bought version! Made with real, whole ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry.

The best part is, homemade protein bars are totally customizable! You can make them exactly how you like them by adding or omitting ingredients as you’d like. These gluten-free protein bars are perfect as an on-the-go breakfast or snack!

    Ingredients Needed

    • Oat Flour: You can use store-bought oat flour, or make your own oats by blending old-fashioned oats in the blender.
    • Protein Powder: Use your favorite protein powder here! I like to use vanilla protein powder, but chocolate protein powder will also work well.
    • Flax Seed: Flaxseeds are rich in protein, omega-3s, vitamins and minerals! They are a nutritious addition, but can be omitted if you don’t have them on hand.
    • Salt: To balance out the flavors.
    • Creamy Peanut Butter: I love adding peanut butter here. If you aren’t a fan of peanut butter, you can use a different nut or seed butter!
    • Coconut Oil: Coconut oil will help to add structure and hold the ingredients together.
    • Maple Syrup: Use maple syrup as a natural sweetener! You can also use honey or agave syrup if you prefer.
    • Vanilla: For added flavor!
    • Chocolate Chips: To make these protein bars slightly sweet, add in some chocolate chips!

    Recipe Variations

    • Protein Powder: Adding protein powder is what makes these extra high in protein! Add vanilla or chocolate protein powder here. If you don’t have any on hand, you can omit it!
    • Nut Butter: Use your favorite creamy nut butter! Almond, cashew, or sunflower butter would all work here.
    • Chocolate: If you like your homemade protein bars extra sweet, add in some white chocolate chips! Or, if you want to keep things low in sugar, add in dark chocolate chips instead. It is totally up to you!
    • Add-Ins: You can add in additional ingredients like dried fruit, chopped nuts, or marshmallows!
