Frozen Mixed Berry Lemonade
Lemonade is one of my absolute favorite summer drinks! Perfectly tart, not too sweet and super refreshing, it’s a classic warm-weather treat perfect for outdoor barbecues and pool parties. Even as a kid, I remember enjoying all my favorite outdoor activities and then refreshing my energy with an old-fashioned lemonade.
All of that being said, I decided I wanted to upgrade my classic lemonade recipe this year! So I took things up a notch and made this lemonade frozen and fruity with mixed berries I had in my freezer.
This easy, 5-minute, 5-ingredient mixed berry lemonade is ridiculously simple to make. Just throw some frozen berries, simple syrup, ice, water and lemon juice into a blender and blend away. Then, place your lemonade in the freezer for an hour, take it out, and serve with fresh fruit. This recipe makes enough to serve about 4-6 people and can easily be doubled!
For a twist try my limeade recipe, and serve double the delicious drinks at your next backyard party.
Key Ingredients
- Frozen Fruit: I love adding fruit to my drinks. The sweet fruit and the tart lemon juice make the perfect combination! You can substitute fresh berries if you have them on hand, but frozen berries do make the drink extra slushy and cold. I love using blueberries, strawberries and blackberries in this lemonade! But use whatever you have on hand! Cherries, raspberries, plums or even mangos would be good in this!
- Simple Syrup: I used simple syrup to sweeten the lemonade. Simple syrup is just equal parts sugar and water boiled until the sugar has dissolved. You can make the simple syrup in advance or make a big batch and store in the refrigerator for up to a month. It’s so easy to whip up drinks and cocktails with pre-made simple syrup.
How to make Frozen Mixed Berry Lemonade
- Blend: First, add all of the ingredients, including your simple syrup and frozen fruits, to a blender and pulse until combined. If you’re looking for a thicker or more icy consistency, you can add in a few extra ice cubes before blending.
- Freeze: After that, simply place the lemonade in the freezer for 1 hour or until slushy! While the mixed berry lemonade freezes, cut a few of strawberries to enjoy with your drink.
- Enjoy: Finally, once your frozen mixed berry lemonade is perfectly slushed, serve with your fresh fruit and enjoy. I highly recommend serving this frozen treat at your next outdoor party or barbecue — it’s a crowd pleaser!

This berry lemonade looks amazing, Kelley! I love that it’s got that slushy feel to it. I also love that it’s tart and not super sweet…I can’t stand when lemonade is overly sweet and sugary. This looks so yummy, I must make a batch at my next get together!
