    The Best Jammy Eggs Recipe

Have you ever had jammy eggs? Jammy eggs are the middle road between a hard-boiled egg and a soft-boiled egg. They have a perfectly set egg white with a slightly runny egg yolk!

As far as boiled eggs go, jammy eggs are the absolute best! The creamy, slightly runny yolks are indulgent and satisfying. After just a few times of practicing how to make jammy eggs, they are certain to come out perfect every single time!

These jammy eggs are super versatile and can be served as an easy breakfast with toast, on a salad for lunch, or with a bowl of steaming soup for dinner!

    Ingredients Needed

    • Eggs: Use whatever eggs you have on hand. Some people say that older eggs are easier to peel, but I think as long as you peel them under running water, they will turn out perfect!
    • Salt: I always add salt to the water when I am hard boiling my eggs! It helps so much when peeling the eggs! It also helps the egg whites to solidify faster when cooking so if there is a crack in the egg it won’t leak everywhere!
    • Ice Water: Get a bowl of ice water ready to place the boiled eggs into after they are done boiling. This will ensure that they don’t continue to cook!
    • Everything Seasoning: I like to sprinkle a little everything bagel seasoning on top of mine before serving as well!

    Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know that my eggs are jammy on the inside?

Unfortunately, it is hard to know what the exact texture of the eggs will be on the inside. I generally go by how long I boil the eggs. Boiling them for 6-7 minutes will result in a perfectly soft, jammy egg! If you live in high altitude, try adding an additional minute. Be sure to set a timer so you don’t overcook the eggs!

How can I ensure that my eggs don’t crack while boiling?

Make sure to lower the eggs gently into the water using a spoon or ladle! It can help if the eggs are at room temperature, instead of placing them cold into hot water. The change in temperature can cause them to crack!

How long do jammy eggs last in the fridge?

Store peeled or unpeeled jammy eggs in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They can be kept for up to 3-4 days!
