Brownie Energy Bites are no-bake, bite-sized treats that taste just like a fudgy brownie. Loaded with 8 grams of protein per bite! Made with simple ingredients and mixed in minutes, they’re perfect for an afternoon snack, dessert, or a quick grab-and-go treat during the week.

Kelley’s Tips
Before You Get Started
- Chill before rolling. Always refrigerate the mixture before rolling. Cold dough is much easier to work with and less sticky.
- If mixture is too dry. Add water 1 tablespoon at a time until the mixture holds together when pressed.
- If mixture is too sticky. Wet your hands slightly before rolling to prevent sticking.
- Make bars instead. Press the mixture into a parchment-lined square pan, refrigerate, and cut into no-bake energy bars.
- Add a pinch of salt. A small pinch of salt really enhances the chocolate flavor. I love using flakey sea salt!
- Roll in toppings. Try rolling the bites in crushed nuts, mini chocolate chips, or shredded coconut for extra texture.
Ingredients for Brownie Energy Bites

- Almond Flour: Gives the energy bites a soft, tender texture and adds healthy fats and protein. If needed, you can substitute oat flour for a nut-free option.
- Creamy Peanut Butter: Helps bind the mixture together and adds flavor and protein. You can substitute almond butter, cashew butter, or sunflower seed butter.
- Ground Flax Seed: Adds fiber, healthy fats, and helps the bites hold together. You can substitute chia seeds or hemp seeds if needed.
- Honey: Adds natural sweetness and helps the mixture stick together. Maple syrup works too!
- Unsweetened Cocoa Powder: Gives the bites their rich chocolate brownie flavor. Use a good quality cocoa powder for the best flavor.
- Water: Helps bring the mixture together and adjust the consistency so the bites roll easily. Add a little at a time if needed.
- Sea Salt: A small sprinkle on top enhances the chocolate flavor and gives that sweet and salty brownie taste.
- Dark Chocolate: Melted and drizzled on top for a rich finish. You can also use semi-sweet chocolate chips or milk chocolate if you prefer a sweeter bite.
How to Make Brownie Bites
Add all of the ingredients to a bowl.
Combine all of the ingredients in a medium bowl. Stir to combine. If mixture looks too try add a bit more water (1/2 tablespoon at a time).
Chill and roll
Place in the refrigerator for 15-30 minutes so they are easier to roll. Roll into 10 bites and store in the fridge for up to a week.
Melt chocolate / Dip in chocolate
Add chocolate to a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 30-60 second intervals until melted. Then, drizzle the melted chocolate over the balls or dip each one in the chocolate.
Refrigerate until set
Sprinkle with flakey sea salt while still wet and then place in the fridge for 30 minutes to set!
