The Best HOney Mustard Salmon
I absolutely love making salmon recipes. Not only is salmon easy to make, but it is also nutritious and packed with omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins and minerals! Today, I made a honey mustard marinated salmon that is absolutely to die for.
First, I made a honey mustard marinade that I coated onto the salmon before baking, then brush it on after it’s baked. This salmon will come out perfect moist and full of flavor.
My favorite way to cook this salmon is in the oven. It is hands-off and totally easy. If you are in a rush, try making it in the air fryer instead!
INgredients Needed
- Salmon: I recommend using wild-caught salmon for this honey mustard salmon recipe if possible! You can bake your salmon with the skin on or off. Since we are baking it, the skin won’t be crispy, so I don’t recommend eating it.
- Dijon Stone Ground Mustard: A high-quality dijon mustard adds so much flavor here! Do not substitute with any other kind of mustard. It won’t result in the same amazing taste!
- Honey: It would not be honey mustard without the honey, right? Honey will add just a touch of sweetness while allowing the sauce to caramelize in the oven a bit.
- Olive Oil: To coat the salmon and keep it moist.
- Garlic: For a bit of savory flavor!
- Salt & Pepper: To taste.
- Parsley: I like to sprinkle some fresh parsley on top before serving for a pop of color and fresh flavor!
How to Make HONEY MUSTARD SALMON
- Preheat & Prep: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
- Make the Marinade: In a small bowl combine the dijon, honey, olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper. Mix to combine then set aside.
- Cover Salmon: Spread half the mustard sauce onto the salmon.
- Bake: Bake for 15 minutes or until the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees. Brush with the remaining mustard sauce and serve with fresh parsley and serve!
Tips for Success
- Don’t over cook the salmon! Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of your salmon. The key for delicious, moist salmon is to ensure that it isn’t overcooked. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature when in doubt!
- Honey mustard salmon is best eaten on the day it was made, just as most seafood. However, you can store leftovers for up to 2 days and reheat in the microwave, air fryer or oven. Reheating might cause the salmon to become overcooked, so don’t over heat!
- If using frozen salmon, make sure to allow it to fully thaw in the fridge before cooking.
