The Best Jammy Eggs Recipe
Have you ever had jammy eggs? Jammy eggs are the middle road between a hard-boiled egg and a soft-boiled egg. They have a perfectly set egg white with a slightly runny egg yolk!
As far as boiled eggs go, jammy eggs are the absolute best! The creamy, slightly runny yolks are indulgent and satisfying. After just a few times of practicing how to make jammy eggs, they are certain to come out perfect every single time!
These jammy eggs are super versatile and can be served as an easy breakfast with toast, on a salad for lunch, or with a bowl of steaming soup for dinner!
Ingredients Needed
- Eggs: Use whatever eggs you have on hand. Some people say that older eggs are easier to peel, but I think as long as you peel them under running water, they will turn out perfect!
- Salt: I always add salt to the water when I am hard boiling my eggs! It helps so much when peeling the eggs! It also helps the egg whites to solidify faster when cooking so if there is a crack in the egg it won’t leak everywhere!
- Ice Water: Get a bowl of ice water ready to place the boiled eggs into after they are done boiling. This will ensure that they don’t continue to cook!
- Everything Seasoning: I like to sprinkle a little everything bagel seasoning on top of mine before serving as well!
How to Make Jammy Eggs
- Bring Water to Boil: Bring a medium pot of water to a boil. Very carefully lower eggs into the boiling water. Sprinkle in the tablespoon of salt.
- Simmer & Transfer to Ice Bath: Cook for 6-7 minutes then remove from the pot and transfer them to an ice bath. After 2 minutes, remove them from the ice bath.
- Peel: Under running water, peel the eggs. Discard the shells and arrange the eggs on a platter or store in a Tupperware container.
- Serve: Sprinkle with salt, pepper and bagel seasoning, if desired. Enjoy!
