The Best Roasted Sweet Potatoes Recipe

These roasted sweet potatoes have the perfect balance of bold flavor and irresistible crispiness! The key to making the best roasted sweet potatoes is seasoning them with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and salt and pepper, and then baking them at a high temperature so that they get caramelized on the outside and soft on the inside!

As long as you flip them a few times while baking, these will be the absolute best sweet potatoes you have ever made. I can eat these potatoes with almost anything, and at any time of the day. They are a great option for meal prepping at the beginning of the week and complementing all of your favorite meals!

    Ingredients Needed

    • Sweet Potatoes: Choose firm, medium or large sweet potatoes. I peel them for this roasted sweet potatoes recipe, but you can leave the skin on if you prefer as long as you scrub them well before dicing!
    • Olive Oil: To give the sweet potatoes a perfectly crispy and caramelized exterior.
    • Garlic Powder & Onion Powder: Both of these spices add a savory depth that balances out the sweetness that comes naturally from the potatoes!
    • Paprika: Paprika adds a gentle warmth and a hint of smokiness!
    • Salt & Pepper: To taste.

    Tips for Success

    • Cut uniform pieces! I recommend dicing the sweet potato up into uniform, equally-sized pieces for even cooking. This will help prevent some pieces being burnt and others being undercooked.
    • Don’t overcrowd the pan. Spread the sweet potatoes out in a single layer on the baking sheet, leaving space between each piece. Overcrowding can cause the potatoes to steam rather than roast, resulting in a softer texture!
    • Taste for seasoning after roasting. Immediately after you roast the sweet potatoes, taste one to see how the seasoning is. You can sprinkle on more salt and pepper after roasting if needed!

    Serving Suggestions
