This 4 Ingredient Peppermint Ganache Pie is as simple and easy as it gets. The super-rich chocolate ganache filling rests inside of a store-bought Oreo cookie crust. (Told you this was easy!) And then it’s all topped off with crushed peppermint for added holiday flare.
All in all this dessert takes a whopping 5 minutes to make. It does require some chilling time in the fridge. At least 2 hours to be exact. This is a perfect dessert to make ahead of time!
With only four ingredients and no baking required, this recipe is one of my favorite no-fuss desserts to whip up for the holidays, especially for Christmas!

4 Ingredients for this Chocolate Ganache Pie
- Oreo Crust: I use the pre made crust to save on time however you can make your own at home by simply combining 2 cups of Oreos with 4 tablespoons butter in a food processor until combined. The mixture should feel similar to wet sand.
- Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips: Are mixed with heavy cream to make the ganache. For an even richer pie you can substitute half semi sweet and half dark chocolate chips. Just make sure to use good quality chocolate.
- Heavy Cream: Is mixed with the chocolate chips to make the silky chocolate ganache!
- Candy Canes: For topping the peppermint ganache pie. I love how the crushed up candy canes look on top!
Optional Add-Ins for Your Chocolate Peppermint Pie
- Add whipped cream before serving, if you like! Even better, make peppermint whipped cream.
- To make this a mocha peppermint pie, simply add a teaspoon of instant coffee or espresso powder to the chocolate chips and heavy cream as it melts to make the ganache.
- Add a splash of peppermint extract to your ganache to amp up the mint flavor.
- Garnish with some mint leaves and sprigs before serving for a pop of color.
- Add chopped chocolate Andes mints instead of or in addition to the crushed peppermint topping.
- Not a fan of peppermint? You could easily leave it out or swap with your candy of choice. This chocolate ganache pie is super versatile!
How To Make This Peppermint Ganache Pie
- Add chocolate chips and heavy cream to a microwave safe bowl.
- Cook until the chocolate is melted. (I do 30 second intervals and scrape the sides of the bowl and stir each time to prevent any burning.)
- Pour into then pre-made Oreo cookie crust.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to set. Slice and serve with crushed peppermint and melted chocolate for garnish, if desired.
How To Store and Freeze This Peppermint Ganache Pie
- To Store: Keep leftover pie in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to five days. (But trust me, it won’t last that long!)
- To Freeze: Wrap whole assembled pie inside of pie tin or dish in saran wrap and store in your freezer for up to three months in an airtight, freezer-safe container or Ziplock bag. Let thaw and chill in the fridge overnight before topping with crushed peppermint and serving. (You can also freeze individual slices. Just wrap them each individually in saran wrap and store in freezer-safe container.)
