Brownies with Peanut Butter Frosting

Super Rich & Decadant Chocolate Brownies with Peanut Butter Frosting. The BEST brownie you will ever have!

Brownies with Peanut Butter Frosting

I have a HUGE weakness for brownies. They are one of my all time favorite desserts. I took my recipe for The Best Chocolate Brownies and stepped them up a notch. I added peanut butter frosting with a drizzle of melted chocolate on top.

These Peanut Butter Brownies are so rich and dense with the perfect amount of chewiness. This recipe uses less flour which helps with the chewiness and substitutes some brown sugar for extra moisture.

I also added in instant coffee granules to bring out the cocoa flavor in the brownies. But my best tip for making brownies is browning the butter! It adds so much flavor and extra nuttiness to the brownies.

The brownie base is super easy to make. Simply brown the butter, stir in sugars, baking powder, cocoa and salt. Allow to sit for 5 minutes then fold in the rest of the ingredients. That’s it!

As for the peanut butter frosting I whip that up while the brownies are cooling. I cream butter and peanut butter together in a stand mixer then add in powdered sugar, milk and vanilla.

  3. Add butter to a medium saucepan and cook over medium heat until light brown / caramel in color. 5-10 minutes. Make sure to keep and eye on it so butter does not burn. It also helps to use a light colored saucepan for this.

  5. Stir in the eggs and vanilla and mix until batter has a nice sheen to it.
  6. Fold in the flour and stir until combined. (Do not over mix)
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the top is set and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool completely and lift out the aluminum foil or parchment paper.
  9. Frost with peanut butter frosting and drizzle with melted chocolate.
  10. Cut into 9 brownies and serve.
