Chips are my favorite snack. That addictive crunch, I just can’t get enough of! Making chips at home is so easy, and when I had some bagels that were a little past their prime, I knew what to do. Make Bagel Chips!

Everything Bagel Chips are so simple yet so addicting. I could literally eat the equivelant of 4 bagels in one sitting. I’m not kidding! The best part? They’re ready in just 15 minutes. Much quicker than a trip to the store!

Just about any kind of bagel will work for this recipe. Plain, cheese, everything, onion, wholemeal, gluten-free – they are all great choices.

And the best part is that they are totally customizable! I love playing with different seasonings on these Homemade Bagel Chips. For this recipe I chose Everything Seasoning but really there are so many flavor combos to try. Check out my Variations section below for more ideas!

    What you’ll need for this recipe

    • Bagel: Any type of bagel is perfect for this bagel chips recipe. I used a cheddar bagel. You can also use a gluten-free bagel to make gluten-free bagel chips.
    • Oil: Olive oil or melted butter brushed over the bagel chips will crisp them right up in the oven.
    • Seasoning: Salt and everything seasoning are sprinkled over these chips for an amazing flavor and texture. Check my list below for other seasonings to try!

    How to make Everything Bagel Chips

    1.  Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

    2. Prepare the bagels: Slice bagels into thin 1/8-inch slices. Place bagel slices onto a baking sheet.

    3. Drizzle and season: Drizzle olive oil, salt, and everything seasoning over the bagels, and toss to coat the chips in the olive oil and seasonings.

    4. Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.

    5. Cool and enjoy! Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a couple of minutes, then enjoy this bagel chips recipe as is or with crackers or your favorite dip!

    Tips for Success

    • Use stale or old bagels: This bagel chips recipe is a great way to use up stale or old bagels! It gives them a new life and they taste even crispier.
    • Try a different bread: This recipe works beautifully with baguettes as well to make crostini!

    • Store bagel chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks. Make sure that the container is definitely airtight for best results.
    • Need to crisp the bagel chips up again? Pop them in the oven or toaster oven for about 5 minutes until warm and crispy.

    Switch out the seasoning on these bagel chips to suit your taste!

    • Sea Salt: 1/2 tsp sea salt
    • Salt & black pepper: 1/2 tsp salt + 1/2 tsp black pepper
    • Garlic: 1/2 tsp salt + 1/2 tsp garlic powder
    • Garlic Parmesan: 1/2 tsp salt + 1/2 tsp garlic powder + sprinkle of parmesan cheese
    • Spicy: 1/2 tsp salt + 1 tsp red chili flakes
    • Smoky: 1/2 tsp salt + 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
    • Garlic Rosemary: 1/2 tsp salt + 1/2 tsp garlic powder + 1 sprig of rosemary, chopped finely
    • Cinnamon Sugar: 1 tsp sugar + 1/2 tsp cinnamon
