    What makes a Breakfast Healthy?

    • Whole grains: Are a must when making a healthy breakfast. I always try to reach for oats or whole wheat flour when making baked goods or smoothies. They are loaded with tons of essential vitamins and minerals. They are also high in fiber which helps with digestion and keeps you full longer. I always try to incorporate some type of whole grain when making breakfast. Whether I am serving eggs with a slice of whole wheat toast or adding oats to my smoothie! The more balanced your breakfast is the better you will feel!
    • Vegetables / Fruit: It’s hard to get your five a day and breakfast is a great opportunity to incorporate vegetables AND fruit into your diet. Smoothies are a great way to sneak in greens as well as fruit. I always like to serve sautéed peppers or spinach with my scrambled eggs. These veggies add up and set the tone for the day!
    • Protein: Eggs, nuts and seeds are all great protein sources to incorporate with you daily breakfast. Protein during breakfast is so important because it helps to keep you full!
